Celebrate America’s 250th with the Kings of Swing: A Free Patriotic Concert in Gadsden!

There is nothing quite like the power of a live big band to stir the soul, and this June, we are pulling out all the stops for a massive historical milestone.

The Kings of Swing invite you to join us for an evening of unforgettable music, community, and celebration as we honor the 250th Anniversary of the United States. Mark your calendars, pack a picnic, and bring the whole family out for a spectacular night of music that spans generations.

  • Where: Mary G. Hardin Cultural Arts Center | Gadsden, AL

  • Admission: Completely FREE to the public!

  • Perks: Listeners are welcome to bring their own food and drink to enjoy during the performance.

From WWII Harmony to Grand Anthems

Our musical lineup for the evening is designed to take you on a journey through the sounds that defined the American spirit.

We will kick things into high gear with the tight, infectious three-part harmonies of Andrews Sisters-style tunes, channeling the energetic swing era of World War II. From there, the evening transitions into powerful, sweeping arrangements of our nation's most cherished patriotic music.

You will hear stirring live renditions of:

  • "God Bless America"

  • "America the Beautiful"

  • "Battle Hymn of the Republic"

We will also debut a deeply moving Armed Forces Salute to honor the brave men and women of our military, past and present. Whether you love the driving rhythm of a classic big band section or the swelling emotion of America's finest anthems, there is something in this setlist for everyone.

The Mary G. Hardin Cultural Arts Center provides the perfect backdrop for a relaxed, joyful evening. Because doors open at 5:00 PM—a full hour before downbeat—you have plenty of time to claim your seats, settle in, and unwind.

We encourage you to support a local Gadsden restaurant by grabbing some takeout, or pack your favorite basket of snacks and drinks from home.

This concert is our gift back to the community that has supported us for so long, and a chance for us all to stand together in appreciation of our shared history. Space is available on a first-come, first-served basis, so make sure to get there early to secure a great view.
